Bullet Jalosjos, the son of disgraced politician and now convicted rapist Romeo Jalosjos, has been in the news lately. It is has begged the media not to call his father a convicted rapist as this hurts his family. Whatta man you are Bullet! If not the best text book case, your father's case best explains the tenet "CRIME DOES NOT PAY". You should know that your father has been afforded the longest route that due process and fair play accord any accused in our criminal justice system. When finally convicted by the lower court, your father was even afforded to run and serve as your district's representative in Congress despite its clear oddity. Now that the Supreme Court has established the fact beyond reasonable doubt that your father has raped a minor despite the best defense that your outstanding defense lawyers can muster, it is time to accept reality.
We Filipino men have always been told to face reality with a strong stance. A Filipino gentleman should know when to fight furiously against injustice and when to accept painful defeat. It seems that you do not know when to accept the glaring truth about what your father did. To stand defiant and unmindful about your father's rape case will not teach you the valuable lessons of history. You should recall that there is a proven saying that one who does not know history is bound to repeat its mistakes. You are just like some Japanese kid who is never taught the atrocities and other unspeakable evils that his forefathers did during World War II in Nanking, Singapore, Manila and some other conquered lands. Like you, he will never learn humility by learning the lessons of erroneous actions in the past.
Now, Bullet be a true gentlemen as what most of us -showbiz struck men always perceive you to be - a dashing gentlemen who bagged the likes of Nancy and Katrina. Sadly, if you continue to defy the truth...you are just another wayward chuck of burning lead.
